PRAISE FOR PROVOST’S CHARITY BALL FROM CGC
October 22 2018
CGC has praised those individuals and companies which attended the Provost’s Charity Ball.
It took pace earlier this month at Mar Hall and was a highlight of the fundraising social calendar in Renfrewshire.
City Gate Construction was a key sponsor of the event and said it was a useful opportunity to raise money for MND Scotland.
It is one of Provost Lorraine Cameron’s chosen charities this year and CGC was proud to be supporting it.
MND is a rapidly progressing terminal illness, which stops signals from the brain reaching the muscles. This may cause someone to lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, drink or breathe unaided.
There is currently no cure or effective treatment. Almost 200 people are diagnosed each year in Scotland and 53% will die within one year of diagnosis with 6.5% living more than 5 years. There are over 450 people in Scotland currently living with MND.
A spokesman for CGC said: “We applaud the fundraising effort that this important occasion highlighted. Many of our Directors attended the Ball and we congratulate the individuals and other businesses who bought tickets to support it.”
