February 1 2018

City Gate Construction has praised the effort to help young apprentices learn about the workplace.

CGC was present at the Skills Development Scotland/West College Scotland event in Paisley Town Hall in late January.

Hundreds of young people came along with their parents to meet employers and find out about apprentice vacancies.

CGC’s Commercial Manager Dave Palmer and Contracts Manager Andy Watson were on hand at the CGC stand to offer advice on careers with CGC.

Skills Development Scotland have delivered a very successful Modern Apprenticeship event for the past two years working alongside the College.

This event provided a valuable opportunity to bring employers & potential apprentices together.Leo Reilly, Managing Director of CGC, said:

“This was an outstanding occasion which proved to be very busy with young people keen to learn about apprenticeships which lead to successful careers.

“CGC is committed to offering young people a pathway into work and we thank Skills Development Scotland and West College Scotland for their kind invitation to attend such a useful event.”
