FOUR GOLFING GREATS! Bumper charity golf effort delivers boost for Macmillan cancer charity

June 26 2019

FOUR friends from Renfrewshire have delivered a bumper cash boost for charity after a gruelling day of golf.

Ready for the game – the foursome (from left to right) Bryan, Stephen, Alan and Michael

The awesome foursome spent an ENTIRE DAY golfing – teeing off at 5.30 am before finishing at 8.30 pm that evening.

Stephen Laird who works for CGC in Paisley as a quantity surveyor was joined by Bryan Robertson, Alan Wells and Michael Easdon.

They played four rounds of golf at two Renfrewshire clubs – Elderslie and Paisley battling the weather and golfing through rainstorms and wind.

The four of them have now raised a magnificent £1500 – easily surpassing their target of £1000.

Stephen said: “It was hard going at times but a lot of fun too. We were pretty tired after the four matches but delighted to have raised money for Macmillan.”

The charity effort known as the ”Longest Day Golf Challenge” is an important fundraising event from the inspiring charity which does so much to help people fighting cancer.

Golfers around the country took part in the fundraising drive on or around June 21 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Across all 72 holes it is estimated players walk around 20 miles!  Since 2002 golfers have raised a staggering £10 million.
